When you sell your home it becomes a product, just like anything else for sale and it must be marketed as such.  Home staging focuses on improving a property to make it appeal to the largest number of buyers by transforming it into a welcoming, appealing, and attractive product for sale.  The goal of staging is to sell a home quickly, and for the most money possible. 

Home Staging requires that you detach yourself emotionally from your home and look at it  through "a buyer's eyes," making changes that would make them feel at home.  Research has shown that home staging can reduce a listing's time on the market by half and could fetch as much as 10-15% more versus an empty home or a home not properly staged.

One of the main principles of staging is packing up your excess belongings and de-cluttering hyour house.  When you sell your home you're going to have to pack everything in order to move, so why not get a head start and pack some of it up now, before any potential buyers see it.  The research shows that you'll be glad you did.
